Manually editing the Windows registry

Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. Incorrectly editing your registry can stop your PC from functioning and create irreversible damage to your operating system. In fact, one misplaced comma can prevent your PC from booting entirely!

To manually repair your Windows registry, first you need to create a backup by exporting a portion of the registry related to MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION (eg. Windows Operating System):

• Click the Start button.
• Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
• While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
• You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
• Click Yes.
• A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
• Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
• In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
• From the File menu, choose Export.
• In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
• In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
• In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
• Click Save.
• The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
• You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.

I can say that this is slightly better than the MTN Night Plan of 500MB for just N25, because with MTN night plan every SIM card entitled to a one-time activation per night, but this Airtel night plan can be renewed if exhausted, it means, you can resubscribe after exhausting the initial 1.5GB. In essence, you can use 3GB for N100 in just one night. Achievement unlocked NASA‰Ûªs Juno spaceship is now in Jupiter‰Ûªs orbit

Nearly five years after it was first launched in August 2011, NASAÕs Juno spaceship has finally entered JupiterÕs orbit. At 11:53PM ET/8:53PM PT, the space agency received confirmation that the spacecraft had turned on its main engine, which burned for 35 minutes to slow down and allow Juno to be drawn in by JupiterÕs gravitational pull.

ItÕs a monumental achievement for NASA: the feat saw Juno cover 445 million miles in space to get closer to Jupiter than any other spaceship in the history of mankind. It is now in a highly elliptical 53-day orbit around the giant planet.

The goal of this mission is to determine how much water is in JupiterÕs atmosphere, in an effort to learn about which planet formation theory is correct. NASA also wants to measure the composition and temperature of JupiterÕs atmosphere, and how its magnetic force field affects the atmosphere there.

Jupiter emits massive amounts of radiation and flings debris with great force; Juno will avoid these belts for most of its time in the planetÕs orbit. But at the end of the 53-day cycle, it will be within close proximity of the planetÕs equator Ð close enough to study the atmosphere and magnetic field.

The warranty is not going to be the responsibility of the Disk Manufacturer unless the Harddisk is bought separately in a retail store, so if you run out of warranty you will have to buy a separate harddisk replacement by yourself.

Symptoms of Harddisk Failure:

• Windows hangs while Booting or takes a unusually long time.

• BIOS hangs while booting. (To restore normal booting from a normal harddrive simply enter BIOS and set Clear NVRAM to yes, Save and exit)

How to resolve:

1. Boot from a Linux Live CD and copy all your important data to an external harddisk. (Do not attempt to boot from the failing harddisk, it only makes thing worse)

Yes I was unlucky enough to encounter a harddisk failure however I managed to salvage all the data I needed to a new Laptop Harddisk.
The new harddisk is considered a upgrade from WD BEVT Scorpio Blue to WD BEKT Scorpio Black.

The new harddisk spins at 7200RPM instead of 5400RPM and has a 16MB Disk Buffer instead of a 8MB disk buffer.
It also comes with a 5year warranty instead of a 3 year warranty.
The slight price difference justified the upgrade purchase.

Kim Dotcom, the creator of notorious file hosting service MegaUpload.com, took time from fighting extradition charges in New Zealand on Thursday to address the Sydney startup conference SydStart via video link. The pitch? His coming alternative Internet, MegaNet.

Wanted in the U.S. under criminal copyright violation charges, Dotcom said that despite Edward Snowdens revelations about NSA spying opening up "the eyes of the world" to government intrusions on our privacy, little would change without action.

Two years ago, Dotcom started work on his solution, which he announced in June: A new Internet called MegaNet.

On Thursday, he offered a few more details about the upcoming project, including its structure and privacy protections.

Importantly, Dotcom said there will be no IP addresses on MegaNet Ñ the unique codes that identify a particular device online Ñ meaning the server cannot be easily hacked. Rather, it will use a new, faster form of blockchain to exchange data, he explained, referring to the distributed ledger system best known for being behind Bitcoin.

Creating a decentralised Internet means that it will be "from the people, for the people," he said.

Speaking to media after the event, Dotcom confirmed MegaNet would initially rely on the existing physical Internet infrastructure as a "dumb pipe." However, he said he and his team are working on creating a new layer of encryption that will run through all digital communications, no matter which tool is used.

He maintained that the type of encryption MegaNet will use will be very powerful, without being specific. "We are going to use very long keys, systems that will not be reverse engineered or cracked by any supercomputer," he said. Doubts about the security of other Dotcom projects, such as MegaChat, have been raised in the past.

Dotcom proposed that our smartphones become a key part of MegaNet. If a user installs the MegaNet app on their smartphone in the future, they could allow MegaNet to use their smartphones processing power and storage when its idle. Dotcom said bandwidth would only be accessed if the phone was on Wi-Fi, so the user is not charged for overage by their service provider.

"If you have 100 million smartphones that have the MegaNet app installed, well have more online storage capacity, bandwidth and calculating power than the top 10 largest websites in the world combined," he claimed.

"Over the years with these new devices and capacity, especially mobile bandwidth capacity, there will be no limitations.

Dotcom said MegaNet will be launched in beta in one year, and he predicted it would have 100 million users within the first year. Despite that, he said, it might take even a decade before mass connectivity occurs on Meganet.

To fund the project, Dotcom said the company will be conducting a seed round in January. Once the prototype is ready, he will also undertake a massive equity crowdfunding campaign.

"I hope this will be one of many approaches to try and stop governments from taking control of this beautiful thing thats the Internet," he added.
