Hi,
My MS Office 2007 is Arabic version.
However, when I have tried copying the content of a word file (degrees for Êstudents written in Arabic numerals, from 0 - 9).
But while pasting those degrees in another document also having degrees written in ÊArabic
numerals 0 to 9, I found that the degrees Êpasted were converted intoÊEastern Arabic numerals.Ê(? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?).
However, the other degrees in theÊoriginalÊdocument to which I pasted
were still inÊArabic numerals .
Also, the content (degrees) in the document from which I copied were still in ÊArabic numerals.
Is this line problem?
This is the procedure I have followed.
1- I have created a word document ona Microsoft Office 2010 English Version installed on my laptop whose system is Windows 7.
Only the degrees of students of that document were written in ÊArabic
numerals, from (0 - 9).
2- I have another word document created on a Microsoft Office 2007 Arabic Version installed on another laptop whose system is Windows XP.
Only the degrees of students of that documents were
written inÊArabic numerals, from (0 - 9).
3- I copied a copy of that document created in the step one and pasted it in a FlashDrive.
Then, I have plugged the FlashDrive to another laptop, and I opened both the Word files on the other laptop and tried copying the degrees from the file created in
the Microsoft Office 2010 English Version and pasted them to the contents(degrees) of that word document created on a Microsoft Office 2007 Arabic Version .
4- I found that the degrees pasted intoÊword document created on a Microsoft Office 2007 Arabic Version converted intoÊEastern Arabic numerals*(? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?).
However, the original degrees
previously written on that word document created in Microsoft Office 2007ÊÊwere still written in ÊArabic numerals (0- 9).
ÊOnly the new degrees pasted converted intoÊEastern Arabic numerals.
Also, in Microsoft Office 2010 English Version installed on my laptop whose system is Windows 7,ÊI have another problem which is that when I write numbers, such as in Date, I find Êthat the numbers are only written inÊArabic
numerals (0- 9), although that the input language is Arabic.
How can I control over Ênumbers.

Word is the only application in Office (Arabic Office or English Office with Arabic support) that has the capability of changing the
look of the numbers (whether Arabic Numerals or Eastern Arabic Numerals [called Hindi in Word]) according to criteria set by the user.
In Word 2010, go to File > Options > Advanced, and scroll down to section "Show document content".
In front
of "Numeral:" you have four options.
If you choose "Context", the numbers will appear Arabic if the context is Left-to-Right (LTR) as in English, and will appear Eastern Arabic (Hindi) if the context is RTL for Arabic.
If you choose Arabic, all numbers will
appear Arabic for both contexts; and will appear Eastern Arabic if you choose Hindi.
I guess that the "Numeral:" of your Word 2010 is set to Arabic.
Change it to "context" to see Eastern Arabic Numerals in your Arabic paragraphs.
But please note the following: If you copy this document to another computer that has "Arabic" as Numeral in Word,
those very numbers will appear Arabic, even in an Arabic paragraph.Ê
Regarding the first problem, since numbers are appearing Arabic AND Eastern Arabic, this
could mean that the "Numeral:" in your Word 2007 is set to Context and the copied numbers are pasted in a RTL paragraph while the original numbers are in LTR paragraphs.
So you need to change your setting according to what you want.
If the problem persists, it would be helpful if you upload the target document for us to check (after removing any sensitive information and names).
To check for Windows updates. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer. If any updates are found, click Install updates.
Install the latest updates for Windows and for the program displaying the error. Note that the update for the program might be listed as an optional update on the Windows Update page.
Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.

An empty All Programs Folders in Windows 7 and how to fixed it!
If you have experienced this:
All the programs, shortcuts & folders in the All Users and current user Start Menu/Programs folders were there
The Shell Folders and User Shell Folders in the registry (both current user and local machine) were pointing to the right folders
Permissions on said folders were all set as expected
Able to reproduce on BOTH a Clean Windows 7 RC install and upgrade (but itÕs much more likely to been seen in a upgrade).
To reproduce on a clean install, open either All Users or current userÕs Start Menu and create a ton of shortcuts. I took the IE shortcut, copied and pasted it until I had 80+ copies. At that point, even the lean installÕs All Programs broke. After deleting those copies (and end-tasking and running Explorer) the CleanÕs All Programs came back.
Possible solution
1. Click on the Start Menu.
2. Right Click on ÒAll ProgramsÓ.
3. Select ÒOpen All usersÓ
4. Open the Programs Folder.
5. Create a new folder named ÒAÓ.
6. Drag all the other folders into the A folder.
7. Close Windows Explorer.
YouÕre done. When you click on ÒAll ProgramsÓ youÕll see a limited number of Program Items. If you click on the A folder, you see all of your Programs. NOTE: In this folder the folders follow single shortcut items.

Achievement unlocked NASA‰Ûªs Juno spaceship is now in Jupiter‰Ûªs orbit
Nearly five years after it was first launched in August 2011, NASAÕs Juno spaceship has finally entered JupiterÕs orbit. At 11:53PM ET/8:53PM PT, the space agency received confirmation that the spacecraft had turned on its main engine, which burned for 35 minutes to slow down and allow Juno to be drawn in by JupiterÕs gravitational pull.
ItÕs a monumental achievement for NASA: the feat saw Juno cover 445 million miles in space to get closer to Jupiter than any other spaceship in the history of mankind. It is now in a highly elliptical 53-day orbit around the giant planet.
Broadcast live streaming video on Ustream
The goal of this mission is to determine how much water is in JupiterÕs atmosphere, in an effort to learn about which planet formation theory is correct. NASA also wants to measure the composition and temperature of JupiterÕs atmosphere, and how its magnetic force field affects the atmosphere there.
Jupiter emits massive amounts of radiation and flings debris with great force; Juno will avoid these belts for most of its time in the planetÕs orbit. But at the end of the 53-day cycle, it will be within close proximity of the planetÕs equator Ð close enough to study the atmosphere and magnetic field.
At 12:30AM ET, the spaceship is scheduled to re-orient itself toward the sun to recharge its batteries. If the maneuver is successful, itÕs in the clear. You can follow along by tuning into the livestream above.

5 Utilities for Changing DNS Servers in Windows Reviewed
Even though most people donÕt care, there are the few geeks out there who like to change the DNS servers on their system for reasons like speed, privacy and security. IÕve previously written about how you can use OpenDNS, which has a free versions that include parental controls and built-in phishing protection.
Also, depending on where you live or where you travel to, the current DNS provider may not be the fastest. For example, if youÕre in New York and youÕre using OpenDNS and then you travel down to Los Angeles, you might learn that Google Public DNS is actually faster. You can easily find the fastest DNS server in your area by using a program called NameBench.
IÕve previously written a step-by-step guide to changing your DNS settings on Windows so that you can use these free public DNS servers instead of the ones provided by your ISP. However, who wants to keep changing DNS settings manually? A better way is to have a program do the work for you. In this article, IÕll mention five useful utilities for automating the process of changing DNS settings in Windows.
DNS Jumper
DNS Jumper is my favorite app for this process because itÕs got all features that I need in a nice, clean interface. What I really like about it is that itÕs portable, meaning you donÕt have to install it onto your system. You can just run it from the disk or from a USB drive, if you like. Here are the features that makes this the best DNS switching program:
1. Restore and Default DNS Settings Ð Saves the original DNS settings, so you can revert back to the original DNS settings just as easily as you changed them. There are two options, restore and default. Restore will change the DNS settings back to the last set of servers you had configured and default will change it back to the ISP settings.
2. Find Fastest DNS Servers Ð Click the Fastest DNS button and you get a cool little dialog where you can choose the servers you want to test and immediately see which one is the fastest. Then you can click another button and set your DNS servers to the fastest one automatically! Sweet!
3. Flush DNS Ð This clears out the DNS resolver cache, making sure that you connecting is using the new DNS settings rather than the old cached settings. Another great option that is very useful.
4. Manual DNS Server Ð Lastly, you get the option to manually enter DNS servers too, which is again a useful feature because there are times when I donÕt want to use a server on the list.

ChrisPC DNS Switch
ChrisPC DNS Switch is another nice utility that gets the job done, albeit not as well as DNS Jumper. For starters, this program does not let you instantly check the speeds of the various DNS servers in the database, so you have to use a separate program to get that information. Otherwise, it pretty much has all the other features: you can restore your original or previous DNS settings, it flushes the DNS cache when changing DNS servers and you can manually enter DNS servers if you like.
The other cool feature of this program is that it has some DNS Presets like Secure DNS (avoid malware/viruses), Family Safe (blocks porn, drugs, etc), and Anonymous DNS (no tracking). However, this program has to be installed in order to run and there is one small ad going across the bottom of the interface that links to his other software. However, these are minor annoyances overall.

QuickSetDNS
QuickSetDNS is from my favorite company, Nirsoft. These guys are always coming out with crazy useful tools and QuickSetDNS is one of them. The program is great and works all the way up to Windows 8 64-bit, but for whatever reason they decided to only include one option in the public DNS list! If you only plan to use Google Public DNS, itÕs fine, but it would have been nice if they added at least a couple more popular options. You can manually add entries and itÕs only a one-time task, but itÕs still not something the user should have to do.
Overall, it does the switching effortlessly and can be run from USB stick, no install necessary. You can also revert back to the default DNS servers from your router. Hopefully, in a future update, they will add a couple of more DNS servers to the list, then it would be a top contender.

Public DNS Server Tool
Public DNS Server Tool has a smaller list of servers than DNS Jumper and ChrisPC DNS Switch, but itÕs got a lot more than the one in QuickSetDNS. Again, though, this program does not have any way to test the speeds of the DNS servers, which is why my favorite is DNS Jumper. You can backup and restore the DNS settings in this program, but you have to manually do it and it saves the file out as a registry file.
One nice feature is the ability to select all network cards in case you have more than one and change the DNS servers for all of them. You also donÕt need to install this program, which is nice. Lastly, there is an INI file you can edit if you want to add more DNS servers to the program interface.

NetSetMan
Unlike the other apps mentioned above, NetSetMan is not designed specifically for changing DNS settings. However, it has features built into it so that you can use it to quickly change your DNS settings. With NetSetMan, you can go to File and click on Get Current Settings to grab the current settings for your computer, which includes the DNS entries.
Then you can create up to 5 additional sets of settings and each one can be set to a different public DNS server. You have to manually set this up, so itÕll take some more time, but if you need a program to manage some other settings in addition to DNS settings, this program is pretty sweet.

If youre using Android smartphone then these tips will be very beneficial for you. Yup, especially when you do not forget to bring the phone but need to keep in touch via SMS messages. If you have access to a computer then you will still be able to send or receive SMS without an Android phone. How do I?
Without Andorid phone in hand, you can still receive and send SMS using the Chrome browser and support Android apps named MightyText. Applications are also known as Texty was able to synchronize SMS with Chrome browser via an extension. That way you can use Chrome to send receive SMS as well, without having to use an Android phone.
To be able to send and receive SMS via Chrome, you should first download MightyText Android app from Google Play Store.
After MightyText installed on an Android phone, open the application and follow the MightyText on connecting with your Google account.
Then install MightyText Chrome Extension in browser.
After installation is complete, you will be faced with a notification that says that you can start sending and receiving SMS from the Chrome browser. An icon will be added to the browser, click the icon.
After clicking on the icon MightyText, you will be notified of the status of your account: You are not logged into your Google account. Click on the link to sign-in using your Google account.
The above steps will bring you to a new page. Click Allow
When access was allowed, you will see a popup in the upper right-hand corner of the computer screen. Stupid popup that tells you the number of SMS you received since you insall MightyText. Since then, each SMS you receive will be notified via the popup.
You also have to start sending SMS messages using a computer directly from the Chrome browser. Every time you want to use the SMS application, simply open the Chrome browser and click on the icon to open the SMS MightyText page.

The tie-up between Apple Inc. and Chinese car hailing app Didi started off with a joke.
Didi President Jean Liu said on Friday that talks began less than a month ago when she stopped by to see Tim Cook at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California. Any company named after a fruit Òcould achieve something big,Ó she jested during the April 20 meeting. DidiÕs legal name, Xiaoju Kuaizhi Inc., means Òlittle orange,Ó she explained.
The $1 billion deal was announced just 22 days later. Liu, a former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker, frequently meets with tech executives when she visits the U.S., according to a person familiar with the matter. She didnÕt go into the meeting to ask for capital, but rather to discuss the China market and opportunities for cooperation, the person said.
ÒThe whole deal closed in lightning speed," Liu said. ÒWe were very impressed by Tim. HeÕs an amazing, iconic leader.Ó
ThereÕs much to gain on both sides. Didi, battling with Uber Technologies Inc. for supremacy in China, will get additional capital to expand into new cities, recruit drivers and market to potential customers. The Apple investment will bring the amount Didi is raising in its current round of funding to $3 billion, people familiar with the matter said, declining to be named because the matter is private.
Apple gets a potentially lucrative investment and wins powerful allies in one of its most important markets. Didi is backed by ChinaÕs two largest Internet companies, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and Tencent Holdings Ltd. They could help Apple market Apple Pay and other services, as well as giving it experience in transportation as it weighs an entry into automobiles.
Signing Apple as a strategic investor is partly aimed at thwarting investors from putting money into Uber, one of the people said. Didi is targeting a valuation of $26 billion, which would make Didi the fourth-most valuable startup in the world after Uber, Xiaomi Corp. and Airbnb Inc., according to the research firm CB Insights. Didi has been waging battle with Uber ever since it was created early last year through the merger of startups backed by Tencent and Alibaba. The two sides were engaged in brutal competition with each other and rival apps before deciding to combine, in part to repel the U.S. startup. The combined company, then known as Didi Kuaidi, held a near monopoly on taxi-hailing and a substantial majority of private-car bookings.
In May of last year, Didi announced it would give away 1 billion yuan ($153 million) in free rides, the first salvo in a price war with Uber that would cause both sides to burn through cash. Uber refused to back down. In June, Chief Executive Officer Travis Kalanick wrote a letter to investors, explaining the strategic importance of the market and pledging to invest $1 billion in the market that year alone.
Over the summer, both sides pushed to attract the cash necessary to finance their operations. Uber raised about $1.4 billion for its China operations, including from search giant Baidu Inc. Didi ended up raising about $3 billion from Alibaba, Tencent, JapanÕs SoftBank Corp. and Ping An Insurance (Group) Co.
