7 Easy Ways to Restore Your ComputerÛªs Health
7 Easy Ways to Restore Your ComputerÛªs Health

If the answers yes to all of these questions, then itÕs time to give your computer a new lease of life. But weÕre not talking drastic measures like buying a new one, as there are a few fixes you can do yourself (or with the help of an expert) that will restore your computer to its former glory. HereÕs how you can perk up your PC.
1. Install tune-up software
The quickest and easiest way to restore your PC to health is to install a free registry cleaner thatÕll tune things up. In fact, some programs wonÕt just return your computer to its regular speed; theyÕll even turbo-charge it for you so youÕll have a boost of power when you need it the most.As well as running at normal speed, your system will crash less and have more disk space available. YouÕll probably even notice improvements in battery life too.
2. Back up your computer
Before you carry out any maintenance or make any changes to how your computer works, back it up first. Backing up is when you create a copy of your current system onto an external device or disk, such as an external hard drive or a writable DVD or CD.As well as backing up before making any changes to your system, itÕs wise to regularly make a copy of your files. After all, some of the information on your computer, like family photos, may be impossible to replace if it was deleted. After youÕve backed up, you can then remove any large files that you donÕt use regularly (like mp3 files or high-res images), this should help free some disk space and speed up your system.
3. Uninstall programs you no longer use
Another easy way to free up some space on your hard disk is to uninstall programs that are out of date or that you never use. This could include pre-installed software or trial versions of programs you no longer use. If you browse online with Chrome or Firefox you might also consider removing Internet Explorer too.To check for programs you donÕt need, firstly click on the Start button and choose Programs and Features. Google any program names that you donÕt recognise. After all, you donÕt want to delete anything thatÕs vital for running the system. Removing the icon from your desktop does not delete the program. YouÕll need to uninstall it via the Programs and Features menu you navigated to above.
4. Clean up your hard disk
Deleting large files youÕve backed up and programs you donÕt use will provide you with extra space on your hard disk, but you can probably clear even more junk than that. Cached and temporary files, for example, will also be using up valuable chunks of memory.Fortunately there is a program already installed on your PC that can clear these for you. Disk Cleanup will search your drive for unwanted data and then either remove it, or simply identify it so you can decide whether or not to get rid of it. If you use your computer a lot, itÕs a good idea to run Disk Cleanup regularly. Set it as a weekly scheduled task and prevent your computer from slowing down drastically again in the future.
5. Update your software
Older versions of software or operating systems will make your computer run slower as additional security fixes (often called patches) and add-ons reduce computing speed. Updating to newer versions should help to improve the speed of your PC, as well as the security of your set-up too.If youÕre running Office 2003 or Windows XP, then you should definitely consider upgrading to a newer version. From 8th April 2014, these programs will no longer be supported by Microsoft, leaving users more open to risks from hackers than before.
6. Scan you computer for viruses
Viruses and malware (malicious software) may well be to blame if your computerÕs running slowly or performing strangely. As well as preventing your computer from working as normal, they could be gathering your information or even planning to steal your identity.Running anti-virus software will not only identify and get rid of any viruses youÕve managed to pick up; itÕll also help to keep your computer clean in the future. So both your computer and the information on it will be safe from harm.
7. Defrag and check for disk errors
If youÕve done all of the above and your computerÕs still not performing as it should, then it may be necessary to defrag the hard drive and then check it for disk errors. Both of these tasks are slightly more complicated however, and youÕre only advised to carry them out if youÕre a competent PC trouble-shooter. If youÕre not, then this is the time to call in the experts.Image Credit: Boians Cho Joo Young

11 Ways to Speed ÛÜÛÜup Windows 8
Windows 8 is the latest version of Windows that has several advantages one of which display its user interface. Since its launch on October 26, 2012, many users are turning to a version of Windows 8 either by the operating system upgrade or buy a new device. With the increasing popularity of this operating system, it does not need to explain what the latest or applications to be installed on this operating system. Now the question is, how is the performance of Windows 8. Is it faster than its predecessor (Windows 7) or even slower.
Clearly, the boot time is now faster. But what about the process after the operating system is running? What should be done to make Windows 8 faster? the problem of performance improvement is an issue of interest for each OS and the user therefore must take some preventive measures and maintenance so that the computer can run Windows 8 smoothly. Here I will share some important tips so that you can run Windows 8 smoothly and faster. Here are 11 Ways to Speed ??up Windows8
1. Install Antivirus
With a wide range of spyware, viruses and trojans in circulation today, is likely to affect the performance of your PC. So to avoid in order not to be exposed to this problem, you must install antivirus software that can provide protection against spyware, viruses, trojans and primarily provide security to avoid malicious websites online.
2. Perform Disk Cleanup Periodically
Conducted a purge of temporary files or cache periodically indirectly Windows 8 will make you run faster. Perform periodic cleaning twice a week and see the change in performance.
3. Optimization Drive
"Optimize Drives" is a new option available in Windows 8, including the "Disk Deframentation" which in previous Windows versions also available. The drive optimization options include "Trip Optimization" and "Slab Consolidation".
Optimization trip served to inform the backup storage of data blocks which are no longer used, in which the function of Slab Slab Consolidation rearranges the data that are dispersed and used at a single location. You can access this option with the support provided to Defragment the drive. Perform Disk Defragmentation every 3 months (depending on how much you use the hard drive to install and remove applications).
4. Fixing Disk Error
To check the integrity of the files stored in Windows 8, you should check Disk Error using certain utilities. Microsoft recommends to check it once a week if you are using Windows 8 on a daily basis.
Heres how to perform Disk Error checking?
Right-click the drive you want to check / fix it and select Properties.
Click the Tools tab and then click Error Checking.
Follow the instructions there and may need to restart this process.
5. Ready Boost
ReadyBoost launched along with Windows Vista. This feature can use the Non-Volatile storage like PenDrive to improve performance by adding more memory to the system. The trick, connect the USB device to the PC and if the device is compatible with ReadyBoost, it will show the option "Speed ??up my system" when you right-click on the device or during the process of Autorun. Enough to follow instructions, and proven ReadyBoost can make Windows 8 more quickly.
6. Minimizing Startup Program
Startup programs are programs that run when you start Windows. Its obvious if more and more applications are running at the start of the boot, it will reduce the performance of your PC. Therefore, select the necessary applications only to be placed on program startup.
How to minimize the Startup Program:
Run Windows Run.
Type msconfig, press Enter.

Uncheck the unwanted applications and not so important. (*)
Click Apply and restart the PC.
(*) Please be careful in choosing the application to be removed, because it feared that it should have no application in the startup process
7. Do not Store Data on Drive C
Most users store data on the desktop or in a folder if the download is constantly being made to reduce the capacity of the main drive. Measures to store data on the primary drive should be stopped, because if something happens to the main drive, then there is a possibility that the data on the drive is inaccessible. Here are tips to manage the data that you have.
Do not store the downloads on the main drive. Use another drive as the storage medium.
Do not store large files on the Desktop.
Avoid storing data on the OS drive.
Try to install the software and games on other drives and not on the main drive.
Uninstall the software that you feel are necessary.
8. Install Software Tune Up
There are many software tune up circulating on the Internet (either paid or free) that can be used to download your tuning Windows 8 to reduce the possibility of errors and the files are useless. Tune up software function is:

5 Ways Voice Recognition Is Now A Part of Our Everyday Lives
5 Ways Voice Recognition Is Now A Part of Our Everyday Lives
Voice recognition software used to be the realm of science fiction, with practical applications rarely extending beyond devices that could recognize a few carefully selected words. When voice recognition hit computers, it became possible to train the computer to recognize your voice. However, this rarely resulted in perfectly accurate results. Now, people are communicating with devices, typing emails and improving their lives using natural speech patterns. As we take a look at the five ways voice recognition software has changed our lives, keep in mind the history and development required to reach this amazing point in history.
Telephone Menus
Most businesses now have the option to speak your commands when you call a company. You might be presented with a list of options, or get a prompt to ask for what youre looking for in just a few words. Banks might allow you to ask for your balance, check the latest deposits or transfer money to another account all without touching any keys on the phone. This is extremely useful for people who are not able to free their hands to type, or that are working on other activities while attempting to complete errands.
Cell Phones
Most cell phones use voice recognition software to help you find what you need. Apples Siri is a prime example of voice-activated software that helps you find information, get things done and even play around on your phone. If youre ever in the mood for a joke, ask your device to tell you a joke and see what it says. People with mild forms of autism have even used these response features to connect with the world and develop their social skills. The technology has come a long way, and is now used very comfortably in a variety of situations.Voice Recognition Replaces Typing
Many people who work in business now use voice recognition software to dictate their emails and other communications. The technology has reached a point where a good degree of accuracy can be obtained. After typing the email, a quick glance over the text can help detect any errors. This technology can save a significant amount of time for people who dont type quickly, or that need to work on other projects while responding to communications. The technology also extends to opening up applications on your computer, typing reports and controlling various aspects of the operating system. As the technology continues to improve, voice recognition software may eventually make the keyboard less relevant.
Home Environment Controls
Many new thermostats and other controllers around your house now respond to voice recognition. You can turn your thermostat up or down by simply activating the voice recognition software. Enable or disable your homes alarm through a specially designed voice recognition app. Virtually everything in your home can be controlled using smart apps installed on your phone. The ability to use your voice to manage and control your environment poses a huge benefit for those with too much on their plate.
Driving Your Car
Navigation control, thermostat features, radio and your stereo in your car can now be controlled using just your voice. The technology allows you to adjust your route, play a selected song or artist, and drive more safely. By removing the distraction of fiddling with buttons while you drive, it makes it safer for both you and everyone else on the road. Phone calls can be answered without having to pick up your phone, and your entire cars audio system can be turned into a microphone and speaker to make and receive calls. As the technology continues to improve more safety mechanisms will be introduced to improve the experience of driving your car.Author Bio:

10 ways IoT is making successful inroads into business
10 ways IoT is making successful inroads into business
The Internet of Things is finding its way into a host of industries, from transportation to health care to factory maintenance.
Many companies are still engaged in proofs of concept to see where the Internet of Things (IoT) can bring value to their operations and strategies, but a number of IoT apps have already taken root in a cross-section of industry sectors and are producing favorable business impact. Here are 10 good examples.
1: Transportation infrastructure
The insertion of sensors at key points of highways and railways is enabling cities to monitor the wellness of their transportation infrastructures, along with events like traffic flow and congestion. The information these IoT sensors send back to headquarters is used to notify motorists of heavy congestion points and alternate routes. It also serves as a predictive means of showing where equipment failures are imminent, so repair crews can be dispatched to fix vulnerable equipment before actual failures (and traffic stoppages) result.
2: Safety of sensitive goods during transport
Foodstuffs and medical supplies often require stringent temperature and humidity controls during storage and shipment. To facilitate climate control, logistics companies use environmentally controlled, sealed containers. The containers are equipped with sensors that emit status reports to a central network so they can be monitored for adherence to humidity and temperature controls. If the environmentals within a container begin to fail or if tampering with a closed container seal is detected, the sensors immediately send out alerts to the central network so appropriate steps can be taken. The use of IoT reduces spoilage of sensitive goods and also prevents tampering.
3: Logistics tracking and performance
Major logistics carriers now use trucks that are sensor equipped so shipments can be tracked along routes, optimum delivery routes can be used, and timeliness can be tracked. In some cases, sensors are also used to track speeds, braking habits, etc., of drivers to ensure that the safest and most environmentally friendly driving practices are used.
4: Equipment diagnostics and preventive maintenance on the factory floor
As manufacturers adopt new 21st century practices, equipment within the factory is being outfitted with sensors that automatically flash an alert into the central factory operations monitoring network when a weakening component or other failure-inducing condition is detected. In this way, manufacturers can take a machine offline, reroute manufacturing operations and repair the faulty equipment before a total failure occurs that stops production.
5: Smart street lights
Street lights with IoT capability now "communicate" with city utility managers who are miles away, sending IoT data on energy usage and enabling remote adjustments to lighting to compensate for local environmental conditionsÑsuch as dimming the lights on a moonlit night or increasing lighting during rainstorms and fog. The ability to climate-adjust street lighting economizes energy usage and reduces energy costs.
6: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
Aerial drones equipped with IoT sensors are being used by oil and gas exploration companies, mining companies, and agribusiness to chart and monitor remote, difficult to access areas and to measure elements such as soil composition and moisture content. The ability to perform these operations remotely saves field time and reduces the safety risk incurred when personnel are dispatched to remote and uncharted areas.
7: Inventory tracking during shipment
In areas of the world where the theft of inventory from trucks in transit for sale on the black market is widespread, transportation companies are attaching IoT sensors to packages and are making the practice known to locals. In one case, a transporter reported that the theft rate had fallen from 50% of inventory to 4% after IoT sensors were installed.
8: Home and business energy monitoring
Homeowners and companies are employing environmental energy monitoring with the help of IoT sensors. The devices assist them in controlling energy consumptionÑwhether it be for an individual home, a business, or a data center.
9: Mobile device tracking
In 2014 alone, more than 10 million mobile devices were lost in the UK. The worldwide total of lost or stolen mobile devices is undoubtedly staggering. Enter IoT sensors that can be activated on these devices to at least prevent data breachesÑand to possibly facilitate device retrievals.
10: Safety monitoring/tracking of Alzheimers patients
Individuals suffering from Alzheimers or other mentally debilitating disorders can now be tracked via IoT sensors in case they leave the home and cant find their way back. In addition, IoT sensors can serve as a safety net for potentially dangerous situations. For example they can be attached to stove gas burners in case a burner is turned on and left unattended.
